Earlier Inter eased to a 3-1 win at home to Parmawith Federico Dimarco, Nicolo Barella and Marcus Thuram all on the scoresheet.
Inter were in action for the first time since their Serie A match against Fiorentina was abandoned last Sunday after midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch and had to be taken to hospital.
On Friday, Dimarco impressed with a deft touch to flick the ball past a defender and into the box before firing in from a tight angle to break the deadlock five minutes before the break. An uncapped Thuram sealed victory for Inter in the 66th minute, volleying a corner into the net for their third goal against his hometown team.
“Things are going well, but I still have a lot to learn. I work with my teammates and follow Lautaro’s teachings [Martínez] and [Marko] Arnautovic who are helping me improve,” Thuram told DAZN. “This team [Parma] there is a place in my father’s heart and for me to play against the yellow and blue is a bit strange, but I am happy that I scored and won this game.”
Parma pulled one back in the 81st minute when Inter defender Matteo Darmian tried to intercept a through ball but sent it into his own net.
Despite the defeat, Parma coach Fabio Peccia remained optimistic about his team’s performance. “The boys’ performance was positive, we knew who we were up against. The attitude was positive, willing to do what we normally do,” he said.

After a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Nantes, PSG looked dominant from the start but struggled to find a way through the stable Auxerre protection. PSG’s Gonzalo Ramos came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half with a header brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Donovan Leon.
Leon continued his impressive form after the break, making several key saves to keep PSG at bay, while Vitinia hit the frame in another missed opportunity for the visitors in the 69th minute.
