Teen killed in London sword attack named as Daniel Anjorin
He was attacked on his way to school around 7 am and died in hospital.
He went to Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green, a fee-paying private school, where the flag was flown at half-mast on Wednesday, the BBC reported.
The police said that a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Two police officers, a man and a woman, suffered serious injuries to their hands and arms in Tuesday’s attack in the northeast of the city.
Police Commissioner Mark Rowley said both had “horribly serious injuries”, adding that the woman almost lost a limb.
Rowley told LBC that police arrived within 12 minutes and the suspect was in custody within 22 minutes.
“I spoke to the family and colleagues of the female officer who has a really badly damaged arm, really badly damaged – the surgeon spent many hours basically putting her arm back together,” he said, adding that “some of the initial contact resulted in officers, who are very seriously injured”.
Footage from a door camera shows the man being electrocuted after brandishing the weapon at officers.
Two members of the pubis were also injured.
The suspect, a 36-year-old man, is in hospital and has not yet been interviewed, police said.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told the House of Commons that the thoughts of the whole house are with the people of Hainaut.
”This is another horrific incident, it seems like every day something like this is reported in the press,” said Dr. Sanjoy Kumar, Grace’s father on Good morning UK.
“You can’t even imagine what the parents are going through. It’s the hardest thing for the parents to endure.”
The Metropolitan Police said it was not being classified as a terrorist attack.
Witnesses told the BBC the suspect was “shouting about God and do you believe in God and things like that”.
